It is wonderful that WordPress plugin developers are given a place to host their plugins in the form of the official WordPress plugin repository, but the only thing that has annoyed me about this is how bad the search is… or was until now!

It seems the WordPress developers has realised this, and I have noticed quite a few people muttering about this issue in the past.

It now features a new search facility – and from my initial first tests it seems to work a treat! Our own beloved WP-CMS Post Control plugin now comes up as a first page result when searching for WP-CMS – it was hidden away many pages deep previously, which clearly wasn’t right!

Good work guys – this should mean much more relevant searches and much better use of this great resource.
