Intresting article comparing WordPress to other CMS systems
I have just spotted a very good article comparing WordPress to other CMS platforms… and much to the dismay of other developers WordPress comes out great - but hey we knew that all along huh!
Some of the more important points draw out from this article over on ZDNet are that WordPress provides almost all the functionality required by most websites straight out of the box - eg RSS,file uploads, URL management.
In my opinion WordPress offers an excellent platform as a CMS, not just a blog system. With a bit of clever template coding and by using a few plugins, you can have a fully features CMS system thats perfect for your website requirements in next to no time!
The plain truth of the matter is that WordPress is far more light-weight in code and much easier to customise than most CMS’s - and will suit beginner to advanced coders a-like. Don’t get blinded by science and tech babble, give it a try, it’s free!
